The town of Bansko is located in the foot of Pirin Mountain, at 927 meters above the sea level, next to National park Pirin. The climate is mountainous, with average January temperatures of -1.9 degrees Celsius, the snow cover in the resort remains for 6 months annually on the average, and the summer temperatures are +25 degrees.

Thanks to its favourable climate and geographic location, Bansko is an attractive destination throughout the year. The Alpine character of Pirin Mountain provides excellent conditions for practicing professional and amateur winter sports, recreation and tourism. The resort has numerous luxurious hotels, spacious residential buildings, resort settlements and commercial sites, there is a modern lift system that transports the skiers to the ski tracks.

The highest point of the ski centre is located at 2560 meters, and the lowest one is located at 1000 meters. The total track length is 75 km, and their excellent quality is achieved with the assistance of 12 snow-beating machines. Skiers are being transported by a gondola for 8 people, five 4-chair lifts, one 3-chair lift, 6 ski towers and 10 children towers. The resort is equipped with special facilities for Half-Pipe that provides the snowboarders with new opportunities. The ski centre has 170 snow cannons for artificial snow that ensure quality snow cover from December until March, and the well-lit tracks provide the opportunity for night skiing. Bansko is tourists’ favourite destination during the summer season when in addition to mountain walks they could undertake ATV tours, ride horses, fish, and of course, be part of the annual music festivals in the town that gather thousands of fans at the central square.
